THERE ARE NO BAD GUYS HERE

November 05, 2012

There is a perception throughout El Parque that some bad guys, malcontents, and complainers have caused tremendous dissension throughout the community. I suspect that the dissension is real but I find it very strange. There are 112 homes in El Parque. 2 or 3 homeowners have voiced some dissatisfaction with certain issues in El Parque. They are not dissatisfied with El Parque itself. They do not want to sell their homes and leave Mexico or El Parque. They want their grievances addressed. Whether their grievances are substantive or legitimate or even reasonable is not the point. These 2 or 3 out of approximately 200 homeowners are sincere in their perception that their complaints are legitimate. It defies logic and common sense that so few could single-handedly cause so much dissension. There are a large number of homeowners who have chosen to pass judgment on these 2 or 3 individuals and their grievances based solely on gossip and rumor. The vast majority of these homeowners who complain about the complainers have very little, if any, first hand knowledge of the grievances and are not familiar with any bylaws or Jalisco laws that might be relevant to these dastardly grievances. It is likely that the very people who are bemoaning dissension are the ones who are, in fact, responsible for the dissension and for keeping it alive. It is the role of the Administrator and the Board to resolve homeowner issues and to do so in accordance with the bylaws and Jalisco condominium law. I suspect that resolving these particular issues with these particular individuals may require some common sense and diplomacy but that is the job of the Administrator and the Board. Self-righteous homeowners should not be the ones to render judgment and stir dissension. Who knows, maybe the complainers have some valid points. Discussion and negotiation could be helpful. These complainants and their complaints may be unpopular but they are not “bad guys” and they should not be tried in the court of public opinion.

Lighten up folks. These so-called bad guys are our neighbors and they are not ill-intentioned

If the people with "grievances" are so keen to be understood why don't they articulate their concerns in a clear and open manner so that those of their neighbours who are interested can at least see what they are concerned about.

The good, the bad, and the ugly - It was a telling meeting in those respects if no other. An audio recording of the entire meeting is stored online. It is a a few minutes download but hour and a half stressful play. But, for the brave of heart, if there be such sort, here is its link
